The Big K

Ella started kindergarten! She is loving it. She has adjusted so well...I have to admit, I was worried about her. She is the kind of girl that really takes her time making new friends. She doesn't feel comfortable with someone until she has had a considerable amount of time to get to know them. She didn't know a soul in her class, and she didn't really know anyone in all of kindergarten at her school. But I have to say, she has really come out of her shell and has made some new friends. I also really like her teacher. She has been teaching for about 20 years and she really knows her stuff. Our previous experience with kindergarten was that there was no homework, but Ella's teacher is a whole new experience. She has worksheets to do most days and her teacher also sends her home with two books a night: one that is about her reading level and one that is a little above her reading level. It has really improved her confidence and it has been great extra practice.

I'm so glad she is doing good. It's a whole new experience when you start homework in kindergarten. Glad she enjoys it.
