Life Lately

I know it has been awhile, so I thought I should get caught up on a few things.

First of all, pregnancy is still going well, but it is getting increasingly uncomfortable. I have all the usual aches and pains that go along with being 34 weeks pregnant. I love how the number of times you have to get out of bed at night is directly proportional to the increasing amount of pain it causes to do so. On the bright side, everything looks good with our little guy and the anticipation we are all feeling is getting to a fevered pitch! Annie is constantly referring to my growing belly and every time I tell her I have to see the doctor she asks if the baby is coming out. She also is obsessed with her dolls and is the best little mommy around. I really hope it carries over when the baby is born. My brother and his wife, whom Annie adores, just had their first baby. We were afraid she'd be jealous because she has always had them wrapped around her finger, but she just loves Dylan. Whenever we talk about Uncle Dean or Aunt Julie she throws in baby Dylan and how "schuuuuute" he is. Olivia and Ella are also so excited to have a baby brother and they get excited about buying him "boy things". I think they will be very proud big sisters.

The other big thing that has been going on for us is that Mark had his ACL surgery last month. We all thought it would be no big deal, but it ended up being a pretty major deal in the end. Everyone he had talked to made it sound like the first week was pretty intense, but then it got a lot better pretty fast. We thought it would be no big deal to have him back at work the next week. Well, it turns out that we were WRONG! Mark had such intense pain for two weeks straight, that the maximum dose of Vicadin(sp?) seemed to do nothing for him. I have never seen him in such pain. His knee was much more swollen than is normal for this type of surgery and he had to have the blood drained off of it twice. I guess he doesn't clot as well as most people, and so the post-surgery bleeding continued longer than normal, which created a lot of pressure in his knee. After two weeks, the bleeding finally subsided and Mark was able to be in a lot less pain. He finally returned to work and my couch became a couch again, instead of Mark's recovery bed. He still has a fair amount of pain at night, but when he is up and moving around during the day he does a lot better. After watching this, though, I never want to have surgery.

That's all for now. I will try to be more diligent about updating, although we'll see how crazy life gets with 4...it is kind of freaking me out.

Hey Heather - sounds like life has been crazy for you lately. Hang in there. I didn't know your hubby had knee surgury - yikes that did not sound fun. And I hear you on the uncomfortableness -I'm so there as well. I have my 32 week appt today and I wish it was my 40th. Well, actually I wish it was week 38 and my little guy was coming 2 weeks early haha. Anyway I miss talking to you at church. I am done playing the piano in primary for the time being though so I will get to attend RS more often. So next time I'll try and sit next to you and catch up. :) Ttyl.

LOL oh my gosh Traci I realized I wrote Heather. I'm so sorry! I was just coming from Heather's blog and then reading your's that is why. I even wondered after I left that comment yesterday if I wrote Heather and then I thought "Nahhhh why would I do something silly like that". So I had to come back today and doublecheck. So anyway just wanted to apologize. LOL

Traci! Wow...sorry things are going so crazy. ACL surgery is not fun at all...I remember when my brother had it when we were in college. He was miserable for a very long time and I drove him around to and from BYU campus. I'm sure you've been swamped with the kiddos and life! I hope that things go well with the rest of your pregnancy!! I'd love to see you soon too!! :)

Gotta just love this stage of pregnancy. At least it gets you use to being up at all times of the night already.

I'm glad the girls are excited about their new brother.

I'm sorry to hear about Mark's surgery though. That's really rough. I'm glad that things are looking up for him. How long did they say it might be before he's fully recovered?
